Guide to Independent Medical Practices

Private-practice healthcare providers, when combined with the work of local hospitals, culminate in our area’s medical excellence. Here, you’ll find a comprehensive guide to independent providers in our area.

Our Private Practice Physicians, Clinics & Medical Services Guide comes to you at an opportune time, with the state of healthcare in our region and country on a continual trajectory of change.
We’ve all dealt with routine and critical healthcare situations in our lives, whether for ourselves a family member or friend.
As it’s become more difficult to navigate the churning waters of how our medical care is provided, the ability of the medical community to diagnose, treat and heal patients is better than ever. Indeed, compared to a generation ago, it seems like truly miraculous cures are finally attainable, with even more breakthroughs on the horizon.
The question for us today is how best to access the high-quality healthcare available in our region. The answer, of course, depends on your level of need and the severity of your condition. The acute illness usually necessitates a hospital environment, while healthcare providers in private practice can handle almost all other healthcare requirements.
Until the early 1900s, healthcare in America was provided one-on-one, from a physician in private practice to the patient. Commonly, physicians traveled to homes to treat their patients or patients visited their doctor’s office.
With the growth of hospitals in the early 1900s, this model embraced its first big wave of change. In the beginning, hospitals were basically an extension of those privately practicing physicians, assisting their ability to provide a higher level of care to patients.
Patients still paid their doctors directly with cash and knew exactly what their healthcare would cost.
The very foundation of how healthcare works in America changed with the growth of insurance companies (third-party payers) in the 1930s. In the 1940s, wartime price and wage controls led to the development of employers paying for all, or most, of an employee’s health insurance premium. The passage of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) follows this basic model, while attempting to cover more people with health insurance. At the moment, the future of the ACA is uncertain.
Hospitals in our region provide amazing medical care through dedicated teams of doctors and nurses. These modern medical centers possess the wherewithal to acquire new medical technologies and keep important advancements coming to our region. It’s their platforms, when combined with the work of local, private-practice healthcare providers, that have culminated in our area being a true region of medical excellence.
Our area has a surprisingly strong number of very accomplished healthcare providers who are dedicated to their independent practices.
For years, they have requested we provide them with a forum for highlighting their medical expertise, along with the unique advantages they provide to their patients.
Independent medical practices position physicians to freely pursue alternate approaches to delivering healthcare to their patients.
They can choose an approach that others might see as competitive in nature, but perfectly acceptable to that independent practice.
Equally important, these physicians make their homes in the region in which we all live. They have laid down roots here so that they can enjoy long-term relationships with their patients. Highlighting these uniquely dedicated professionals, for your consideration, is the primary purpose of this, our first Private Practice Physicians, Clinics & Medical Services Guide.
Within this section, you’ll find a variety of medical practitioners representing a wide range of skills and medical expertise.
If you’re looking for a refreshed personal appearance, we’ve found plastic and cosmetic surgeons as well as dermatologists who can help to create a new you. We’ve found experts who treat a wide range of conditions, from ocular, spinal and renal diseases to gastrointestinal conditions, varicose veins and chronic pain. Each of the experts we’ve found deliver groundbreaking treatments on the cutting edge of modern medicine. In some cases, we’ve found experts who’ve received national recognition for their achievements in medicine.
In our active society, expertise in orthopedics and chiropractics can help to keep an active body in motion, even when age-related conditions and sports-related injuries interfere. We’ve found experts who can help you to succeed in your recovery.
On a more everyday level, we’ve found dentists who specialize in serving adults and those who focus their practice on children. We’ve located locally owned businesses that can outfit you with the right medical equipment – in the fields of home medical supplies and mobility equipment.
As you read through this section, you’ll appreciate the meaning behind the independent status of their practices. They truly have a passion for providing excellent, compassionate healthcare services to their patients.
And, as an informed healthcare consumer, you can make a more educated choice when it comes to determining the best healthcare provider for you and your family.
Together, with this outstanding group of participating healthcare providers, we trust that our Private Practice Physicians, Clinics & Medical Services Guide will help to serve your family’s healthcare needs now and for years to come.

Medical Pain Management

Living with pain is a reality for millions of people today, and it interferes with the ability to enjoy even the simplest of pleasures.
At Medical Pain Management Services Ltd. (MPMS), thorough assessment is provided for a variety of acute, chronic and cancer pain diagnoses. Treatment is provided through interventional therapies by physicians specializing in the treatment of pain syndromes.
MPMS nurses are some of the most experienced in the field and understand the unique medical and emotional needs of patients with pain.
Acute pain is often your body’s way of telling you that something is wrong; the perception of pain is highly individualized. When pain is not resolved after medical treatment lasting a duration of six months or more, the pain then is considered to be chronic in nature.
Chronic pain often causes dramatic changes in a person’s ability to function and lead a normal life. The providers and staff at Medical Pain Management Services utilize the latest in treatment modalities to address the complexity of all acute, chronic and cancer-related pain conditions.
Early intervention in evaluation and treatment can reduce the impact of pain and restore a patient’s quality of life.

Rockford Nephrology Associates

Nephrologists care for patients who suffer from diseases of the kidney, have electrolyte disorders, need help in controlling their blood pressure, or require dialysis. At Rockford Nephrology Associates, our goal is to serve nephrology patients with quality care and continuing education.
Our medical staff includes 10 highly trained and board-certified nephrologists as well as three Nurse Practitioners, all working exclusively in nephrology. Our physicians are assistant professors for the University of Illinois College of Medicine-Rockford. Our practitioners teach in the classroom as well as in the hospitals and participate in the education of medical students, residents and advanced practice nurses.
Our goal is to identify the cause of kidney disease and tailor therapy to treat that specific disease. We focus on education and lifestyle management as well as medication adjustment. We are trained to deal with complex cases of high blood pressure as well as uncommon electrolyte disorders. We are able to deliver quality care to those who have lost their kidney function with several forms of dialysis including in-center hemodialysis, home hemodialysis, nocturnal hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. Our interventional nephrologists serve dialysis patients in an outpatient setting to ensure the best possible dialysis access care. We also partner with universities throughout the Midwest to provide comprehensive care to our patients after they have received kidney transplants.
Because we believe it is important to empower patients to learn about kidney disease, Rockford Nephrology, with the help of DaVita, offers free kidney education classes. These classes are aimed specifically for patients diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease Stages 3, 4 and 5. Classes are held at the Rockford main office and the Beloit office and cover everything patients need to know about disease progression and healthy lifestyles, including treatment options and delaying disease progression.
Our main office is on Roxbury Road in Rockford, however, we provide outpatient appointments at several convenient satellite locations including in Beloit, Freeport, Dixon, Sterling, Rochelle and Sycamore. We see patients in consultation in 12 area hospitals and care for patients on hemodialysis in 13 dialysis units in the region.
RNA accepts all patients whether from a physician office or by self-referral. Our goal is to ensure that all patients in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin receive quality, personalized nephrology care. “RNA cares for your kidneys.”

Melissa Stenstrom, M.D., Board-Certified Dermatologist

Over the past three years, MD SkinCenter has been privileged to provide top-notch dermatologic care to over 20,000 patients in the Rockford region. Even so, due to a chronic nationwide shortage of dermatologists over the recent years, rising skin cancer rates, and the demand for healthcare in general increasing, this region has unfortunately experienced longer appointment wait times. In order to help meet the high demand for dermatology care and reduce wait times, MD SkinCenter offers services through nurse practitioners (NP) and a physician assistant (PA). These important healthcare professionals form an integral part of our team at MD SkinCenter. We care about providing the best access to healthcare, and our NPs and PA provide our patients with an opportunity to be seen earlier. They spend valuable time with patients, counselling and educating them about their illnesses and customizing their care.
We also believe patients should know and trust their healthcare professionals. It is ultimately your right to see the specialist of your choice. As such, patients should feel comfortable asking questions about their healthcare professionals. Some common questions about NPs and PAs include: “What is the difference between them?” or “Can they diagnose and treat my issue?” While there are some differences in education, training and practice structure between these fields, they also share many parallels or similarities.
Both NPs and PAs have completed higher education and have state licensure and certification requirements. Both are subject to substantial continuing medical education requirements, periodic license renewals and re-certifications. Their relationship with physicians should be one of collaboration with a supervising physician. This means that they have a formalized relationship with an overseeing physician to define the type of care, treatment and procedures they may perform, among other things. Of note, the type of services performed by the NP and PA must be those that the physician generally provides to patients in the normal course of his or her clinical medical practice. The purpose of this is to ensure that the physician has the experience and ability to provide meaningful collaboration, consultation and direction to the NP or PA.
At MD SkinCenter, we take a collaborative “team-approach” to medicine where experience and knowledge are shared among the providers and staff to achieve excellence in patient care. Our highly specialized physicians head the team and ensure that high-quality, comprehensive care is always being provided. We strongly believe patients benefit from formalized “collaborating” or “supervising” physician relationships with NPs and PAs. Our NPs and PA work very closely with Dr. Stenstrom. They hold case conferences, study medical articles together, and hold frequent discussions and consultations, particularly on anything that is of higher acuity or complexity. All providers participate in ongoing continuing education to ensure that they are current in their fields. In short, when patients are seen by any of the healthcare professionals at MD SkinCenter, they are getting the best, most comprehensive care.
Dr. Stenstrom and the rest of her team at MD SkinCenter welcome new patients and look forward to meeting you. MD SkinCenter: The region’s premier center for medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology.

Jerome Weiskopf, M.D., Cosmetic & Plastic Surgery

Aesthetically Pleasing Results
A graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa, Dr. Weiskopf went on to medical school at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor from which he graduated in 1969. He completed a residency in general surgery at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 1974 and a fellowship on plastic and hand surgery in 1976, also at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio.
Certified by the American Board of Surgery in 1975 and by the American Board of Plastic Surgery in 1977, Dr. Weiskopf has been in private practice in cosmetic and plastic surgery in Rockford since 1976. Twice elected president for the Winnebago County Medical Society, he has also been a clinical associate on the faculty of the University of Illinois College of Medicine – Rockford.
Dr. Weiskopf practices actively at all three Rockford hospitals, including OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center, SwedishAmerican Hospital and Mercyhealth Hospital (formerly Rockford Memorial).
“Right now, I am seeing more patients who are focused on breast reconstruction,” Weiskopf says. “However, liposuction is also a common request. Truth is, people love to eat, and that can lead to excess fat in areas of their bodies that become unsightly. Excess fat can also be the result of postpartum weight that has not dropped off naturally after giving birth. In male patients, we see a need to quickly eliminate belly fat and saddle bags. Liposuction is an effective treatment for such conditions.”
“With liposuction, however, the down side is that the skin surrounding the fat does not shrink easily. It may get rid of the fat but still leave issues with droopy skin. We can remedy that.”
Modern plastic surgery is certainly more than beautification or enhancement. At Dr. Jerome Weiskopf’s office, we continue to provide full-service treatment of conditions, treating skin diseases, accidental situations and congenital deformities, as well as beauty and enhancement. We address all aspects of plastic surgery with equal skill and enthusiasm.
Whether you want to reshape your nose or breasts, smooth wrinkles and tighten sagging skin, remove excess fat, or correct a problem resulting from surgery, birth defects or the effects of aging, the wide array of procedures available at our office can help you achieve the appearance you desire.
Come on in and see how friendly and cooperative our staff is. We welcome all concerns with our best face forward.

Andrew Jun, M.D., Board-Certified Head and Neck Surgeon

Dr. Jun is a board-certified head and neck surgeon and co-founder of MD SkinCenter, located at the Cornerstone Building in Rockford. He is a Chicago native who graduated from Northwestern University and received his medical training at the University of Illinois and the University of Iowa before calling Rockford his home. Practicing in Rockford for over 16 years, he has been selected by patients through a national online ranking system for several Patients’ Choice Awards. He performs Mohs skin cancer removal surgeries, medical/cosmetic reconstructive/facial plastic surgeries, and treats other disorders of the head and neck.
Dr. Jun is the only surgeon in the Stateline area who is certified to perform in-office balloon sinuplasty, a revolutionary technique to help treat sinusitis. Balloon sinuplasty opens sinuses similar to the way in which cardiologists open up blocked arteries with balloons. This procedure is quick and minimally invasive (no cutting of tissue); no need to visit a hospital; no nasal packing required. Patients do not need to be put to sleep and they typically return to work the next day. In contrast, the downtime of typical sinus surgery may be a week or more. After these procedures, patients are amazed at the difference it has made in their lives.
Another great advantage to having balloon sinuplasty done in-office is that it is the most cost-effective treatment option for sinusitis. The average hospital typically charges more than $50,000 for a hospital stay and, after insurance discounts, the hospital will charge the patient an average of $15,700. Having the procedure performed in-office by Dr. Jun avoids hospital fees, resulting in significant savings to patients. While balloon sinuplasty may be offered in hospitals, Dr. Jun is the only surgeon in the Stateline area performing in-office balloon sinuplasty.

  • Balloon Sinuplasty
  • minimally invasive; allowing for quick recovery
  • most cost-effective; avoiding the hospital

Dr. Jun’s clinic is the center of excellence for balloon sinuplasty in the Stateline area. He understands how debilitating sinusitis can be for his patients and is committed to scheduling them within a week. The clinic is conveniently located in the Cornerstone Building in Rockford at the corner of Mulford and Guilford roads.

Pediatric Dentistry of Northern Illinois

When Dr. Jeff Johnson completed his residency at Children’s Memorial Medical Center, which is now called Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, he was determined to practice pediatric dentistry in Rockford. That was 25 years ago and since then, he’s provided pediatric dental care to infants, children and adults with special needs at Pediatric Dentistry of Northern Illinois, 4903 E. State. St., Rockford.
The demographics of the children’s clinic have continued to grow over the years and include patients from the surrounding five counties in the Rockford area.
Dr. Johnson, a board-certified pediatric dentist, and Dr. Pamela Lu, who joined the practice in 2004, emphasize the need for early childhood and preventive care. One of their main focus areas is welcoming children to the dentist when they get their first tooth or by the time they become a year old.
In the past, unless a child had a trauma or oral injury, their first experience in a dental office was right before they started kindergarten. Unfortunately, if they wait until then, a child may already have tooth decay, which sometimes progresses beyond the ability to save the teeth creating potential future problems.
Dr. Johnson and his team frequently hear parents say they don’t understand how their child developed so many cavities, since they brush their teeth and don’t eat a lot of candy. But, those things are only part of what contributes to cavities.
Today’s diets consist of many processed foods with high amounts of sugar. Even foods that are deemed healthy have natural sugar in them.
Genetics, developmental deficiencies, certain medical conditions and medications all contribute to determining the risk factors for cavities. Sharing food utensils and cups with someone who has active decay provides a route of transmission for the bacteria that cause decay.
Seeing a child 2 years old or younger with cavities is not unusual and is heartbreaking to children, parents and the dental team. But satisfaction comes from working together to find options and treating the child and then seeing a healthy child with a healthy smile.
Dr. Johnson’s key process in achieving healthy smiles for patients is addressing risk factors for their developmental age and scheduling Oral Wellness visits accordingly.
“We recommend techniques to use at home and offer numerous incentives within our office to achieve this goal,” Johnson says.
Not only does Dr. Johnson continue to check and clean teeth, but he also expands oral health education to both the general and professional communities.
During the past 25 years, much of Dr. Johnson’s success has been measured by the numerous names listed on the No Cavity Club wall in his office and the number of current patients whose parents are former patients.
“My office is a busy place filled with a lot of blessings,” Johnson says. “I have great team members who’ve worked with me for an individual average of 10-plus years. Best of all, we have kids who tell us they actually like coming to the dentist.”

Lymphedema Clinic at Brynwood Myofascial Therapy

Lymphedema is a serious condition in which excessive lymphatic fluid collects in the interstitial tissues of the body, due to protein situations in the body that have chemical attraction to water molecules. This abnormal buildup of fluid can cause swelling, pain, discomfort, and feelings of tightness in specific areas of the body or, more generally, throughout the body itself.
Symptoms of lymphedema may include any or all of the following:
• Swelling in the arms, hands, fingers, legs, feet, toes, face/neck, shoulders and abdomen
• Skin indentations that may stay after being pressed (early onset)
• Weakness or heaviness of legs and arms
• Tightness or stiffness of the skin, pain/heat and/or redness of affected areas
• Aching in the neck, shoulders, spine, or hips
• Decreased range of motion in upper and/or lower extremities
• Difficulty fitting into clothing, tight fitting rings, shoes, or watches.
What is Lympathic System?
The lymphatic system plays an integral part in the body’s immune system. It consists of specialized vessels and nodes which help to transport lymph fluid back towards the heart after helping to cleanse the body of metabolic and cellular debris.
There are two types of Lymphedema, Primary and Secondary, with Secondary being more prevalent in society than Primary.
Lymphedema can be caused by multiple attributing sequelae in the body including:
• Cancer that causes a blockage in the lymphatic drain system
• Surgery (removal of lymph nodes) and/or radiation that affect nodes or vessels
• Infection or physical damage to lymph system or nodes
• Scarring in and around vessels/nodes
• Blockage of a vein by clotting, trauma, or other diseases.
Typical cancers that bring on an increased incidence of Lymphedema include, but are not limited to, breast cancer, prostate cancer, melanoma, gynecological cancers, lymphoma’s, blood cancers, and sarcoma’s. If left untreated, the accumulation of fluid eventually results in fibrosis (hardening) of the extremity tissues.
How Does Decongestive Therapy Help?
The overall goal of treating lymphedema is to allow the lymphatic system to flow freely once again and this approach is called Decongestive Therapy. The Brynwood Myofascial Therapy clinic focuses on treating the entire person with lymphedema from a Complete Decongestive Therapy model that includes: education, exercise, manual lymphatic techniques, compression/garments, counseling in regards to nutrition/wellness and skin care/hygiene, as well as assist with activities of daily living through compensatory means, if needed.
The overall goals of Brynwood Myofascial Therapy for their patients include: reduction in fluid in a safe manner, improve skin pliability, improve pain, improve range-of-motion, improve self-confidence, and a return to a normal lifestyle. The use of up-to-date evidence-based research and on-going education for the providers at Brynwood Myofascial Therapy allows us to improve the treatments that our patients receive.

Hemochromatosis Patients Can Give Blood at RRVBC

Just because you’ve been diagnosed with Hereditary Hemochromatosis (HH) doesn’t mean your blood can’t be used to help others.
Rock River Valley Blood Center, 419 N. Sixth St., Rockford, allows HH patients to become volunteer blood donors.
HH is an inherited iron metabolism disorder that happens when the body loads too much iron. This extra iron can gradually build up in the body’s tissues and organs, particularly in the liver cells, heart, pancreas, joints and pituitary gland. If left untreated, this iron buildup may lead to tissue and organ damage over time.
Common symptoms of HH include joint pain, abdominal pain, fatigue and weakness. Additional, more serious symptoms include diabetes, heart failure and liver failure. If treated early, especially before organ damage, a person can live a normal life expectancy.
HH can be treated by removing red blood cells to deplete the excessive iron supply, a procedure called therapeutic phlebotomy. It’s similar to a blood donation, only it requires a doctor’s order. RRVBC is able to perform this procedure on patients with HH. Depending on the amount of iron overload at the time of diagnosis, reaching and maintaining normal levels requires frequent and regular phlebotomy. It can take months and even years to treat.
Once iron levels are back to normal, a person can begin maintenance therapy, which involves making a blood donation every two to four months for life. Some patients may need to give blood more or less, depending on how quickly their body absorbs iron.
“Hereditary Hemochromatosis is a condition that people have to be treated for, often resulting in their otherwise healthy blood being disposed of,” says Jen Bowman, public relations and marketing manager for RRVBC. “Since 2007, Rock River Valley Blood Center has performed over 5,000 therapeutic phlebotomies, resulting in more than 2,100 usable HH units being added to the community blood supply.”
Because HH is hereditary and not an infection, it can’t be passed through transfusion. HH patients must meet regulatory donor eligibility requirements in order for their blood to be used by hospitals.
RRVBC has a dedicated RN who coordinates these specials services and works with physician offices to enroll patients in the Therapeutic Phlebotomy program, even if the blood has to be discarded.
RRVBC provides patients this convenience at no cost, and it can be performed at all four donor center locations in Rockford, Belvidere and Freeport.

“The goal of CSW is to offer better innovative solutions to get people out of pain fast by addressing the root of their problem, rather than the symptoms, using the latest technology and research,” says founder and owner Chris Scott.
The doctors on staff include a board-certified anesthesiologist and a chiropractic physician who work with patients to formulate a comprehensive plan of care. Every member of our wellness team is distinguished in his or her own field. Their extensive education and experience provide distinct advantages for our patients because they can quickly discover a better way to a better you.
Chris Scott, founder and owner, is the sports medicine therapist of the Olympic Kickboxing Team USA. “A Better Way to a Better You” is our slogan, says Scott. What does that mean? It means that we don’t do average patient care within the realm of chiropractic, medical massage, myofascial release and physical therapy.
In our state-of-the-art treatment center, located at 1752 Windsor Road, in Loves Park, Ill., we work with people of all ages and abilities, from 3-month-old babies and pregnant women to 104-year-old adults. Our focus is to help as many people as we can by making a difference in their lives. At the end of the day, it all comes down to one thing: Improving the quality of life for our patients so they can function at their most optimum level.
Dr. Brittany McMullen provides high-quality chiropractic care with immediate relief in treating a wide range of pain conditions, such as disc problems, sciatica, neck and back pain, pinched nerves, headaches, sports injuries, and shoulder, hip, knee and joint pain. A chiropractic adjustment reduces subluxation to increase range of motion, improve function and reduce nerve irritability. By combining chiropractic with medical massage, the adjustment can last longer.
We believe the true purpose of medical massage is to alleviate muscle pain through individualized pain management plans administered by Advanced Medical Massage Therapists. We can help with nerve impingements, restricted range of motion, post-surgery rehab, frozen shoulders, sciatica and much more. By receiving a medical massage prior to a chiropractic adjustment, the muscles are loose and the adjustment will last longer. The medical massage will keep the muscles relaxed longer, allowing the joints to stay in place and not be pulled by the muscles. Remember, muscles pull on bones, and that’s what creates movement. We all know you have to move in order to improve!
Some unique aspects of this practice include the revolutionary technology of the PowerPlate Pro 7 HC, which is a certified medical device that you stand on. We’re the only practice in the state-line area providing this service, which impacts a broad range of disciplines, from physical therapy to workout programs. It is quite extensive in treating Parkinson’s disease, fibromyalgia, peripheral neuropathy, rheumatoid arthritis and spinal cord injuries, and in helping people to walk better.
“This device never ceases to amaze me,” says Scott. “I’ve witnessed people in wheelchairs who just put their feet on the PowerPlate platform for 5 minutes and afterwards they’re able to get up out of their wheelchair and walk with a walker. It’s like a healing miracle from God because, before then, it was impossible for them to get out of their wheelchair, let alone walk.”
Chris Scott Wellness accepts insurance, care credit and cash for services rendered. We do not want finances to stop a patient from receiving the care they need and deserve. Therefore, flexible payment plans can be made in advance to fit anyone’s budget. The practice is considered clinical and family-oriented. Patients come to CSW for healing and stay for maintenance. The patients and staff get to know one another over time and form a family-like bond.

Yavitz Eye Center

At Yavitz Eye Center, 4105 N. Perryville Road, at Perryville and Riverside, we combine state-of-the-art testing with precision surgery and always lead with compassion.
Our patients are treated like family. Instead of using an answering service, Yavitz gives every patient 24/7 access to his personal cellphone. We don’t overschedule, so typical waiting room times are less than 15 minutes.
Yavitz has been inventing techniques and equipment since his days at Harvard Medical School and now has 37 patents, with new ones pending on the potential treatment for dry macular degeneration. As a corneal specialist, he founded the eye bank in Rockford (now part of Eversight) and continues to perform corneal transplants. He draws patients from Illinois, Wisconsin and Iowa for LASIK, and his fees are up to 50 percent less than most other offices. Strong word-of-mouth referrals from 25-plus years of excellent service and results power this practice.
Yavitz knew he wanted to become an eye surgeon from high school on. His father had very poor vision and required three different pairs of glasses to function at different tasks. He hoped his son would one day be able to improve his vision. Back in 1990, when his father developed cataracts, Yavitz did, indeed, keep his promise and performed his father’s cataract surgeries, resulting in his ability to play golf and drive without glasses. His father, now 95 years old, continues to do so.

Benassi Family Dentistry

With two practices located in Rockford & Winnebago, Dr. Antony F. Benassi has been practicing dentistry for over 26 years. Dr. Benassi received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery when he graduated from the University of Iowa, College of Dentistry in 1991.
A Rockford native, Dr. Benassi took over the 35-year old practice of Dr. Leo Sabien at Fairview Plaza. He practiced at this location for 19 years and has built his own reputation through hard work and patient loyalty. In 2006, Dr. Benassi opened a second location in Winnebago, Ill., to serve the small community in which his family lives. The Rockford practice relocated to a larger facility in November 2012. Located next to Crimson Ridge, the larger facility allows for more patient and hygiene rooms, plus more space for all of the new dental technologies they have acquired.
Both practices are equipped to offer a wide range of the latest in general and cosmetic dental treatments, including CEREC same-day/one-visit crowns, Galileos 3-D X-ray Technology, Digital Impressions, Bicon Dental Implants, Invisalign, and more.
Benassi Family Dentistry has built a very loyal customer base over the years. In addition to their professionalism and community involvement, the friendly staff attributes this to their willingness to educate their patients and help them decide on the best treatment for them.
Benassi Family Dentistry is truly a “family” practice. Dr. Benassi proudly works with his son, Nathanael, and daughter, Isabella. The family team invites you in today to help create your beautiful smile for life. AND DID WE MENTION? FREE WHITENING FOR ALL PATIENTS!
