Coronado Peforming Arts Center (Nels Akerlund photo)

The Old Northwest Territory is steeped in history: the settling of the prairie, the growth of business and industry, the advent of the modern age and advanced technologies. And through it all, there’s been entertainment.
From dance halls, concert halls and vaudeville theaters to movie palaces, music guilds and playhouses, our residents have always enjoyed a bounty of live entertainment opportunities. Whether you like drama or comedy, classical, folk or rock music, solo acts or troupes, or a little bit of everything, you’ll find it among our numerous local venues and organizations.
Here, Northwest Quarterly notes just a few of these places, along with their upcoming seasons. Check out our Arts & Entertainment calendar for full show descriptions, as well as a complete listing of more great shows at other fantastic venues.
