New Midway Village Exhibit: The 1960s

Right in Our Region:
When the 1960s began, American women spent hours each week ironing their dresses and husbands’ shirts while Elvis Presley played on the radio. By decade’s end, many had traded in their irons for loose-fitting “flower child” garb or mini-skirts (or at least something made of no-iron polyester) and were listening to Bob Dylan.
