Lake Lawn Resort: A Perfect Place to Spend Some Time This Autumn, Whether for Business or Pleasure

Fall 2010

*Editor’s Note: Lake Lawn Resort has closed its doors, effective Dec. 7, 2010.

Lake Lawn, Wisconsin’s first and longest continually-operating resort property, is the place to be this fall. The newly remodeled and upgraded Lake Lawn Resort is the perfect place for a corporate retreat, fall wedding or banquet. Boasting 22 meeting rooms and 32,000 square feet of banquet space, all with a prime view of Delavan Lake, the resort offers a getaway unlike any other.

“The wedding ceremonies that we do on Delavan Lake are amazing,” says Pete Zellmer, general manager. “They take place right at the lake’s edge. That’s something that nobody can duplicate, and our banquet rooms include an amazing view of the lake.”

Set on more than 250 acres of pristine countryside and two miles of Delavan Lake shoreline, Lake Lawn Resort offers plenty of fall activities including golf on the 18-hole championship course, fishing, swimming, water sports rentals, tennis, volleyball, biking or relaxing with a soothing treatment in the Timber Spa. Supervised children’s activities are also available.

The 130-year-old resort completed a massive renovation last year, upgrading its rooms with flat-screen TVs, wireless Internet and fresh, lodge-style décor. Guests are enjoying the added comforts of the more than 220 luxury lodges and value rooms. From two-story lofts with space to sleep six, to luxurious and comfortable couples suites, Lake Lawn Resort has one of the best selections of rooms available in Wisconsin.
“The renovation is really coming into its own,” says Zellmer. “Our upgrades have been well received by our guests and now the resort is really showing off that diamond in the rough.”

One of those diamonds is the main dining option. The Frontier Restaurant and its new bar offers an open view to the courtyard and shoreline of Delavan Lake. Led by Chef David Ross, the restaurant features New American cuisine and upscale comfort food created with fresh, locally-grown produce. During the colorful months of fall, guests will especially enjoy the new Lookout Bar & Eatery with patio seating overlooking the lake.
“We have so many things for a variety of special getaways,” says Zellmer. “There are so many things to do right here, and the best part is that you never have to leave the resort.”
